2022 Road Improvement Program

The 2022 Road Improvement Program will include the following roadways

  • Imperial Drive
  • Prairie Wind Circle (north and south)
  • Farm Valley Court
  • Highland Court
  • Elmhurst Road
  • Bryn Drive (a portion)

The schedule for each of these projects are outlined below.

Imperial Drive, Prairie Wind Circle, Farm Valley Court, and Highland Court

Work to be completed as part of the improvement includes:

  • Milling (removal of the top 2 inches where there is curb and gutter) and paving in Prairie Wind Circle North, Prairie Wind Circle South, Farm Valley Court and Highland Court
  • Pulverizing and paving of Imperial Drive between the westerly Town line and North Shore Drive. The milling (for select areas) is scheduled to start on June 23rd, 2022. You can drive on the road during and after milling operations. Pulverizing is scheduled to begin on Monday June 27th, 2022; however, the schedule is weather-dependent and could change. Once the road is pulverized, it will be graded and rolled to provide a surface you can drive on. Paving is scheduled to begin June 30th, 2022 and be completed by July 6th 2022 (no work over the July 4th weekend).

With all road construction projects, there are various times of inconvenience. Please anticipate short periods of time (20 minutes to 1 hour) when you will not be able to get in or out of your property due to roadwork. The contractor will minimize delays as much as possible. Emergency access to all properties will be maintained. We anticipate closing Imperial Drive between Winston Way and North Shore Drive to through traffic. The road will be open to “local traffic only,” which means those that live on Imperial Drive and those properties that can only be accessed via Imperial Drive can use the road. The road closure will allow the contractor to work efficiently to complete the work timely, and to allow the asphalt pavement time to cool prior to substantial traffic on it. On Imperial Drive, the contractor will be placing the asphalt in two layers. Each layer will need 2-4 hours to cool down before traffic can use the roadway.

Elmhurst Drive

Work to be completed on Elmhurst Drive includes milling (removing) 2-inches of pavement and installing 2-inches of new asphalt pavement. No drainage work will be performed. The milling work is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2022 and asphalt paving is scheduled to take place on June 30th or July 1st, 2022. The schedule is weather-dependent and could change. The roadway can be driven on during and right after the milling work is compete. The new asphalt should not be driven on until it has cooled, which could be 2 to 4 hours after it has been placed.

Please anticipate short periods of time (20 minutes to 1 hour) when you will not be able to get in or out of your property due to the milling operation. Emergency access to all properties will be maintained. The contractor has stated that they are planning to pave the entire road width at one time, which would require the full closure of the roadway during paving. It is anticipated that the paving portion will take 4-6 hours. The contractor will minimize delays and inconvenience as much as possible.

Bryn Drive - TBD

Pulverizing is scheduled to begin on Monday July 11th, 2022; however, the schedule is weather-dependent and could change. Once the road is pulverized, it will be graded and rolled to provide a surface you can drive on. Paving is scheduled to begin July 14th, 2022 and be completed by July 15th 2022.

Please anticipate short periods of time (20 minutes) when you will not be able to get in or out of your property due to the pulverizing and paving operation.
