Board of Review

The Board of Review hears citizen challenges to their assessment value.  The Town contracts with Grota Appraisals to do all assessments in the Town.  Citizens may object to their home values, if they can show an error on the part of the assessor.  The board has the authority to revise the property value assigned by the assessor, if applicable.  The board acts as a quasi-judicial body, and is tasked with hearing testimony and reviewing evidence, in order to make a final determination.

Open book is the time before the Board of Review where citizens can review the assessment roll, and ask the assessor questions about their assessment.  Open book is May 23, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.  Assessor Ray Koscak is available via phone or email anytime before the end of open book.
